Melonex Injection: Not This Product, and Why It Matters
A Melonex injection is not this product. The name is also used for a meloxicam drug, an NSAID painkiller given by injection in some countries. Melonex capsules are a dietary supplement taken by mouth and contain no meloxicam. For an injection, ask your doctor or vet.

What is a Melonex injection?
A Melonex injection is a meloxicam product, not our capsule. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, or NSAID, and some brands sell it in injectable form.
Injectable meloxicam appears in animal medicine. FDA lists meloxicam as approved for dogs, oral and injectable, and for cats only as a one-time injection around surgery (FDA, pain relievers for pets). An injection is given by a vet or doctor, and the dose is theirs to set.

Can Melonex capsules ever be used in place of an injection?
No. The capsules are not a substitute for any injection, and they are not a painkiller. They hold a 500 mg amino acid blend and no medicine.
Using a supplement where a vet prescribed an injection could leave pain untreated. Guessing with an animal is never safe.
Never give Melonex capsules to an animal. This site gives no dose for any drug or animal. Call your vet, and for a swallowed pill call the pet poison line at 1-888-426-4435 (ASPCA, top pet poisons).
How do you tell which Melonex you have?
Check the front panel and the facts box. A supplement shows a Supplement Facts panel, and our bottle reads "Dietary Supplement" with 60 capsules.

A vial, a syringe or a prescription label means the drug. Our Melonex vs meloxicam page compares the two in more depth.

FAQ01
Melonex questions people ask
Is a Melonex injection the same as Melonex capsules?
No. The injection is a meloxicam NSAID, and the capsules are a supplement with no meloxicam. They share only a name.
Who should give a Melonex injection?
Only a doctor or vet. Ask them about what to give and when. Keep taking any prescribed medicine as directed.
Can I use Melonex capsules after surgery instead of a vet injection?
No. The capsules are not pain relief or a post-surgery medicine. Follow the vet's plan and call them with questions.
