L-Arginine and Sildenafil: Why Doctors Ask About Both

Can you take L-arginine and sildenafil together?

Does L-arginine work like sildenafil?
No. Sildenafil is an approved medicine, while arginine is an amino acid sold as a supplement.
Mayo Clinic says arginine might improve sexual function in men whose erectile dysfunction has a physical cause (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). A separate reference calls such claims unsubstantiated (Health Library, Arginine). The evidence is unsettled, so no product should promise it.
