Heart Health Supplements for Dogs: Ask the Vet, Not the Label
Heart health supplements for dogs should come from your veterinarian, not from a human label. Melonex capsules are made for people and are not for dogs. Melonex also shares a name with a meloxicam painkiller used in animals, a different product. If your dog has a heart concern, call the vet.

Who decides on heart health supplements for dogs?
Your veterinarian decides. A dog's heart, weight and medicines differ from a person's, so a human supplement cannot be scaled down by guesswork. We give no dose here, and no label we cite does either.
Human products can be poisons for pets. The ASPCA reports heart and blood pressure medicines among the top pet-poison calls, and supplements such as fish oil and joint products ranked third among over-the-counter products (ASPCA, top pet poisons).

Is the Melonex name used for dog medicine?
Yes, a different product. In parts of South Asia, Melonex is a brand of meloxicam, a prescription NSAID for people and animals. Melonex capsules contain no meloxicam and are not a painkiller.
FDA notes meloxicam is approved for dogs, but for cats only as a one-time injection around surgery. NSAID side effects in pets include vomiting, diarrhea, ulcers, and kidney and liver damage (FDA, pain relievers for pets). Read Melonex vs meloxicam.
What should you do if a pet swallows capsules?
Call a veterinarian or the ASPCA poison line at 1-888-426-4435 right away (ASPCA, top pet poisons). Keep the bottle to show what it was. Store pills where pets cannot reach them.

If you take heart medicine yourself, drop no dose. Store it away from pets.
